We may not have had the quantity, but we had the quality at our gathering on June 8th. at Sherburn, with every car but one (mine) in superb condition. A trophy was to be awarded to the best car present, and was judged by 4 members. It was a difficult job, and a short list of 6 was given to me, with the judges recomending one car in particular. So a 1911 Swift (subject to a 15 year restoration by it's loving owner) Dave Tebb was awarded the trophy. The Swift was just about perfect, with many polished brass parts on it, more than a regiment of firemens helmets, (Dave must have some shares in Brasso). The weather was pleasant, with a stiff breeze at times blowing across the airfield, and the men in their flying machines were busy doing what they do best. The usual raffle was held, and drawn after the trophy presentation, the proceeds of which, along with donations are to go to St.Gemmas .
That was it then, clear up, and homeward bound.Another good day. Thanks to all who helped and supported us, and made a very pleasant day.
